About Francis Holland School - Regent's Park

Francis Holland School is the name of two separate independent day schools for girls in central London, England, governed by the Francis Holland (Church of England) Schools Trust. The schools are located at Clarence Gate (near Regent’s Park NW1) and at Graham Terrace (near Sloane Square SW1).

A happy, academic day school for girls aged 11-18 with a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Pupils achieve excellent results and all transfer to university, including Oxford and Cambridge. Sport, drama and music feature strongly in the extra-curricular schedule of 70 clubs. The school has its own swimming pool and uses Regent’s Park for tennis, hockey, rounders and netball.

For 2021 because of the pandemic Francis Holland which traditionally uses the 11+ consortium as is 11+ test administrator has chosen to administer the ISEB Common Pre-Test for Entry into year 7 for September 2021.

Registration and Key Deadlines and Examination Dates

All Girls interested in Registering with Francis  Holland Regents Park will be required to sit the ISEB Common pre-Test on or before 12th December 2020.

All Girls must be registered by 18th November 2020. 

In addition to the ISEB test, interviews will be held via an online video platform in January and February 2021 to assess applicants’ skills in problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity.

About the ISEB Common Pre-Test

The tests take about two-and-a-half hours to complete (English 25 minutes, mathematics 50 minutes, non-verbal reasoning 32 minutes, verbal reasoning 36 minutes) and can be taken together or at separate times, either in the candidate’s own school or at the senior school for which he or she is entered

ISEB PRE-TEST FORMAT:  

The test is taken on a computer and consists of multiple-choice questions. It is broken down into four parts: 

  1. English – 25 minutes(reading comprehension, sentence completion, spelling and punctuation) 
  2. Mathematics – 50 minutes(in line with Year 5 of the UK National Curriculum) 
  3. Non-Verbal Reasoning – 32 minutes(shape analogies, classes like, horizontal codes) 
  4. Verbal Reasoning – 36 minutes(common words, antonyms, word combinations, letter transfer and number codes)
